What do you feel you have learned in the progression from your preliminary task to your full product?
I feel like i have learnt a lot in the progression from my preliminary task. I found out about new websites, technologies and software that helped me a lot.
Layout - In the preliminary task i had only just learnt about normal conventions of a magazine and could not apply them properly to my preliminary magazine. This is why there was so much space on the front cover of the preliminary task. On my final product things are spaced out more and the image has been made larger to fill up the empty space.Images - At the beginning of the preliminary task i had forgotten how to use some features of photoshop so I edited the image alot on Microsoft Word. I removed the background on word using the 'Remove Background' tool however this is not nearly as good as on Photoshop and it left the image looking a bit messy. To improve on this in my final product i used the lasso tool to cut out the image and place it on an image of a background i had took. The image looks quite a bit sharper in my final task as i used a professional camera, unlike the phone i used in the preliminary task.
Fonts - For my preliminary task i used fonts that were already downloaded onto the computer as i didnt know i could download other fonts. This made my preliminary magazine look unprofessional and made it so it stood out less. In my final product i downloaded a font called 'Badaboom BB' which i used as my main font throughout the magazine. This gave my magazine a unique look that helped it to stand out, be original and look more professional.
