What do you feel you have learned in the progression from your preliminary task to your full product?

I feel like i have learnt a lot in the progression from my preliminary task. I found out about new websites, technologies and software that helped me a lot.

Layout - In the preliminary task i had only just learnt about normal conventions of a magazine and could not apply them properly to my preliminary magazine. This is why there was so much space on the front cover of the preliminary task. On my final product things are spaced out more and the image has been made larger to fill up the empty space.

Images - At the beginning of the preliminary task i had forgotten how to use some features of photoshop so I edited the image alot on Microsoft Word. I removed the background on word using the 'Remove Background' tool however this is not nearly as good as on Photoshop and it left the image looking a bit messy. To improve on this in my final product i used the lasso tool to cut out the image and place it on an image of a background i had took. The image looks quite a bit sharper in my final task as i used a professional camera, unlike the phone i used in the preliminary task.

Fonts - For my preliminary task i used fonts that were already downloaded onto the computer as i didnt know i could download other fonts. This made my preliminary magazine look unprofessional and made it so it stood out less. In my final product i downloaded a font called 'Badaboom BB' which i used as my main font throughout the magazine. This gave my magazine a unique look that helped it to stand out, be original and look more professional.

I believe that IPC media would be the best magazine publisher to publish my magazine because it would allow my magazine to be accessed online, on mobiles and in print due to the fact it creates content for multiple platforms. It is also the UK's leading consumer magazine publisher and I am would like my magazine to be aimed mainly at the UK as that's who were in my target audience survey.

This was also an inspiration to my magazine. Both images are a bit similar with the casual pose they have. They both also share similar facial expressions as neither are fully smiling nor frowning. Its a serious expression and they are both looking straight at the camera.They have different hair styles however they are both down rather than up.These elements all seem to represent a young social group and this is what it is like throughout the magazine. There is nothing that makes them stand out or look as though they are part of a different group.

The whole of the left page is the main image like my magazine and it is a direct mode of address.
This magazine also used drop caps and columns which is what i looked at when creating my own. The secondary image is very similar to how i have placed my own in the bottom right corner
